Spring season is officially arrived and we are excited to gather again and celebrate our ANNUAL Day. It has been our tradition since 2001 that we celebrate  our existence and we proudly call it NOAA-CREST DAY!!

It is a day when the entire NOAA-CREST community come together  to welcome, meet and engage  potential students mostly HS students and undergraduate and graduate students in NOAA- CREST science, education and research training. Students learn about the program and NOAA.  NOAA-CREST Day promises again to be great success in promoting and inspiring STEM education to the next generation of scientists and engineers.  Since its inception NOAA CREST Day has represented a significant environmental literacy and outreach events for the students, parents, educators and scientists, and also serves as an important student recruitment opportunity by showcasing the research and opportunities for future students to pursue an education in remote sensing, climate, weather & atmosphere, water resources & land process or ocean and coastal waters, all within the CREST Institute family of programs.

In the past we had the honor of welcoming many guests from NOAA including present NOAA Administrator and Under Secretary of Commerce, Dr. Kathryn Sullivan (2012), past NOAA Administrators Dr. Jane Lubchenco (2011), VADM Lautenbacher (2003).

We are very excited to welcome Dr.  Stephen Volz Assistant Administrator for Satellite and Information Services  for the 14th Annual Day. http://www.nesdis.noaa.gov/leadership.html
